The general role of the Field Technician II – Fire Suppression is to provide general labor and materials handling in support of the Fire Suppression operation.
The work will be conducted in commercial, industrial, and underground facilities.
This position must possess a thorough understanding of all aspects of Fire Suppression and demonstrates proficiency with the products and service equipment associated with Fire Suppression.
This position will require a flexible schedule that may include extended hours, weekends, holidays, and evenings.
The Field Technician II will report to the Assistant Division Manager and will work primarily out of their assigned location.

Install hangars following code requirements Lead basic jobs with minimal supervision Plan and assemble material lists Gather information for bids Troubleshoot electronic fire alarm detection and suppression equipment at customer sites Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specification, schematics, and operational product manuals Prepare associated paperwork and forms for customer service and project activities in a timely manner as required Communicate with Project Managers, Planners, Project Engineers, and other field personnel regarding duties and relevant issues Follow proper safety and incident reporting procedures Analyze, solve, and correct customer issues Continue to maintain and acquire manufacturer’s certifications such as: Victaulic Vortex, Kiddie Systems, Ansul Systems, etc.

Qualifications: 2+ years of knowledge and experience in plumbing on fire suppression systems including wet pipe, dry pipe, pre-action, deluge, and fixed fire extinguishing systems is preferred Must be willing to attend training and remain updated with regard to industry standards and requirements to include the MSHA 40-hour, Black Hat certification, underground training, state specific trainings and manufacturer certifications Possess manufacturers certifications such as: Victaulic Vortex, Kiddie Systems, Ansul Systems, etc.
preferred Possess a thorough understanding of the principles of fire protection and fire alarm systems Possesses a technical and mechanical aptitude Ability to perform mathematical calculations accurately Ability to meet deadlines Possesses a comprehensive knowledge of NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) 25 and other applicable standards Possesses a familiarity of electric and diesel fire pumps Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and schematics Must be willing to attend training and remain updated with regard to industry standards and requirements Working Conditions Walk / use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls / reach with hands and arms / climb ladders and stairs / crawl / kneel Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds Perform duties on-site at industrial, commercial, and residential locations Perform work underground and at heights for extended periods of time Additional Eligibility Qualifications This position requires the completion of a thorough background and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
