The general role of the Shop Foreman is to provide physical and general labor to a wide range of trades through various construction, mechanical and industrial projects.
This position will train new employees and assist with production as needed.
Tasks will include providing direction and guidance for fellow Shop Technicians and assist with day-to-day administrative tasks.
This is a semi-skilled position that requires a mechanical knowledge and aptitude, along with a basic knowledge of general construction trades.
This position must be willing and flexible to work a schedule that may include extended hours, weekends, holidays, evenings, and possible night shifts.
Infrequent travel with overnight stays may be required.
The Shop Foreman will report to the Division Manager and will work primarily out of the Grantsville area Shop.

Oversee materials handling and storage Load and unload trucks, tools, and materials as needed Stage tools and materials and assist skilled workers as required Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicles in a professional and workman-like manner Follow proper safety and incident reporting procedures Provide detailed paperwork and documentation to ensure accurate record keeping, billing, and inventory Become familiar with job specific documentation with the intention of becoming proficient Become familiar with suppliers, ordering materials, quoting, and project documentation Collaborate with Project Managers and other Divisions to properly schedule and maintain the flow of projects coming through the shop Follow instructions and complete given tasks that are specific to job completion Load and prepare work materials for transport to job sites Train and mentor new employees Provide direction and instruction to other technicians Perform and oversee testing, and assist with QC implementation Coordinate field repairs as needed Ensure production deadlines are met Assist with timecard review Manage and supervise assigned personnel and ensure effective performance management Other Duties This job posting is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required for this position.

Qualifications: 2+ years of general construction, building or mechanical experience or equivalent technical education and training Knowledge and experience working with concrete and/or welding preferred but not required Must possess knowledge of materials, equipment and tools used throughout construction trades to include the ability to utilize a measuring tape Must possess leadership ability and/or experience Must be dependable, trustworthy, and possess a positive and productive attitude Must be able to work well with co-workers in a team environment Must demonstrate a keen awareness of safety and safe practices Ability to balance multiple projects Valid driver’s license required Working Conditions Walk / use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls / reach with hands and arms / climb ladders and stairs / crawl / kneel The employee may regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds Perform duties on-site and underground at industrial locations Required to wear safety equipment: as per OSHA/MSHA requirements including but not limited steel toed and/or metatarsal shoes, hard hat, lanyard, fire retardant, protective eye wear, etc.
