The general role of the Field Safety Supervisor is to provide on-going support of safety initiatives in a manner that will continually improve the safety culture throughout the company.
This position is responsible to promote and ensure all employees successfully maintain a culture of safety and utilize safety best practices.
They must have a full understanding of safety and compliance regulations as well as a general knowledge of environmental, housekeeping, and safety best practices.
This individual must be flexible and willing to work extended hours as needed to include frequent travel with overnight stays.
The Field Safety Supervisor will report to the Safety Manager - EHS&C and will work primarily out of their assigned location.

Identify and correct deficiencies in safety practices on site with all personnel Teach or instruct hands-on safety classes in the shop or field Encourage employees to perform work safely by maintaining positive relationships Inspect job sites to ensure that equipment is set up, utilized, and maintained in a safe and compliant manner Communicate with on-site customer representatives to ensure positive communication and that safety practices are being followed Document and report company and employee safety practices and deficiencies Review customer contracts and site-specific safety plans for safety and compliance requirements Participate in pre-job planning, customer safety meetings, site-specific safety orientations Collaborate with other safety personnel and managers as needed to ensure safety compliance and planning Collect and deliver JSA’s and other compliance paperwork between the field and office Plan, develop, manage, and implement special projects as assigned Participate in an on-call rotation for the safety & compliance report hotline and respond to calls regarding workplace incidents Collect data concerning incidents, accidents, near misses, and reasonable suspicion reports and relay findings to management Teach or instruct safety classes in a classroom setting as needed Other Duties This job posting is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required for this position.

Qualifications: Ability to meet a minimum of one of the following criteria (or obtain one of the following criteria within 3 months of starting): Bachelor's Degree in safety or related technical field with a minimum of 5 years of project experience in a construction safety role as a titled safety professional A minimum of 5 years' experience in a construction safety role as a titled safety professional and completion of the OSHA 500 Training Course A CHST designation with a minimum of 4 years in a construction safety role as a titled safety professional Valid Driver’s License required Embraces Safety as a core value Ability to maintain confidentiality Basic knowledge of DOT, OSHA, MSHA and other safety and compliance regulations Practical knowledge of office procedures and customer relations Possess strong presentation skills and the ability to relate information both concisely and accurately Ability to build and maintain positive relationships at all levels from field personnel to management, customers, and the public Working knowledge of personal computers and software packages including specific knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other presentation software Ability to work under stress and handle stressful situations while maintaining a professional composure Ability to meet deadlines Must maintain certifications relative to the Safety and Compliance requirements Working Conditions Sit, talk, hear, read, and write Regularly walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms Must be able to kneel, stoop, bend, squat, and climb a ladder Lift and/or move up to 75 pounds as needed Must be able to work at heights Must be able to work in confined spaces Works indoors and outdoors in all types of weather on-site at industrial locations Additional Eligibility Qualifications This position requires the completion of a thorough background and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
