*Overview*
The Quality Control Manager is responsible for the following:
* Compliance of the company’s Quality Control Manual with the ASME (The American Society of Mechanical Engineers) Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section VIII and the NBIC (National Board Inspection Code).
This compliance is monitored by an Authorized Inspector during twice-monthly hydrotest inspections and formally reviewed annually and triennially.
* Compliance of daily operations with the Quality Control Manual.
* Prevention of non-conformance.
This role reports to the Operations Manager.
Production employees do not report to the Quality Control Manager; however, this role is given authority and is expected to remedy non-compliant or non-conforming work at any stage of the production process.
The ideal candidate enjoys working in a job shop environment.
While there is ongoing and periodic administrative work to complete, an estimated 70 percent of the time is spent on the shop floor.
*Qualifications* *Credentials* _(to obtain and maintain)_ * Certified Individual (CI) certification * Driver’s license * PA Commercial Driver Medical Certification *Welding* Knowledge and proficiency in the following processes: * MIG _(required)_ * Semi-automatic submerged arc _(preferred)_ * Stick _(preferred)_ * TIG _(preferred)_ *Quality Control* Hands-on * Interpret blueprints and other technical information.
* Use measurement tools.
Administrative * Documentation management - ASME, NBIC and customer required * Audit management *Technology* Knowledge and proficiency in the following areas: * General computer literacy _(required)_ * Email communication _(required)_ * Internet navigation _(required)_ * Microsoft Excel and Word _(preferred, able to learn)_ *Shop Skills* _(preferred, able to learn)_ * Operate hand tools, plasma cutters, welders, weld positioners, semi-automatic welding machines, hydraulic shear, bandsaw and rolls.
* Operate forklifts, overhead cranes and jib cranes.
* Operate a pickup truck with trailer.

* Identify and correct layout and dimensional issues.
* Troubleshoot recurring non-compliant or non-conforming work.
* Perform production welding as needed.
* Process improvement - Help develop inspection criteria based on customer, tank design, batch size, etc.
Help design and build jigs and fixtures to aid in fabrication and quality control.
* Training - Qualify production employees in welding processes.
Help develop work instructions.
Help structure a formal training program.
*Administrative* * Traveler (print, complete, sign, update) * U-1A and U-3 data reports (complete in EDT, sign) * Welding documents (WPS, PQR, WPQ, WOPQ, Continuity Log) * Non-destructive examination certifications * Pressure gauges * Measurement tools * Document packages * First article inspections (FAI) * Production part approval processes (PPAP) * Hydrotest reports * Non-destructive examination reports * Recertification reports o Repair reports * Non-conformance reports * Standard deviation requests * U, UM and R stamp audit preparation, participation and follow-up *Benefits* The Quality Control Manager is a salaried, exempt position.
While the annual salary is the base compensation, the company also administers a quarterly profit-sharing program based on financial performance.
Working hours are typically the same as production employees Monday-Friday 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM.
This schedule may flex in line with production demands.
Overtime hours may extend to 4:30 PM and sometimes Saturday morning 6:00 AM – 12:00 PM.
Salaried, exempt employees are expected to work extra hours as needed.
This may entail working 40-45 hours per week.

Eligible after 1 year of service * Paid Vacation Leave - 5 days per year.
Increases by 1 day with each year of service after the first calendar year.
