Main Purpose of Job
This full-time contractual position is the full performance level of interior and exterior painting work at the Thomas B.
Finan Center.
This position will mainly involve interior painting and preparation of walls.
Per the Amended Directive and Order Regarding Vaccination (MDH # 2023.

03) issued by the Secretary of the Maryland Department of Health, effective April 18, 2023, staff in all hospitals and residential facilities operated by the Maryland Department of Health or any local health department are required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination.
Staff includes, but is not limited to, regular and contractual employees, contractual staff, volunteers, and other state employees performing any duties at the facility.
An individual may request an accommodation by providing appropriate and sufficient documentation for bona fide medical or religious reasons.
POSITION DUTIES Prepare surfaces for paint by patching holes, repairing drywall, using dry wall mud, caulk, sanding, cleaning surfaces or other actions that may be required.
Paint walls, ceilings, doors, etc in patient areas, corridors, conference rooms, staff and patient clinical areas.
These are for example and may include other areas.
Clean and maintain equipment, bushes, rollers etc.
Clean work-site areas and ensure no tools/equipment/contraband are left behind.
Completes any other maintenance work order as assigned and assist with other maintenance staff with work orders where needed to assure proper operations of the center.
Performs Emergency work assign to assure proper operations of the Thomas B.
Finan Center, working weekends and holidays as necessary and scheduled by Supervisor.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education: Completion of the Eighth grade.
Experience: Four years of experience in painting work.
Notes: 1.
Candidates may substitute additional painting experience on a year-for-year basis for up to two years of the required education.
2.
Candidates may substitute a certificate or a diploma from an accredited vocational school or technical high school with a concentration in painting for up to three years of the required painting experience.
3.
Candidates may substitute U.
S.
Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Painters, Construction and Maintenance classifications or Painters, Construction and Maintenance specialty codes in the Painting field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
SELECTION PROCESS Applicants who meet the minimum (and selective) qualifications will be included in further evaluation.

As a contractual employee, you will be responsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your medical and prescription coverage, including any eligible dependents you have enrolled.
The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost for these benefits.
You can also elect to enroll in dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance, but will be responsible to pay the full premium for these benefits.
Leave may be granted to a contractual employee who has worked 120 days in a 12 month period.
This leave accrues at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked, not to exceed 40 hours per calendar year.
