We currently have an opportunity available for a Store Associate Key Carrier in our Surplus City store.
We are looking for a friendly, out-going person to assist customers at our Cumberland, Md.
store.
Key Carrier Job Summary - The Store Associate Key Carrier completes tasks that support the Store Manager and overall customer base.
They will also establish and implement short and long-term objectives of the store, oversee related functions and activities and administer company policies and procedures.
Key Carrier Job Duties include but are not limited to:
Greet customers as they enter the location.
Answer customer questions, respond to customer requests and resolve customer issues.
Trains store staff by reviewing and revising orientation to products and sales training materials; delivering training sessions; reviewing staff job results and learning needs with retail store manager.
Attracts customers by originating display ideas; following display suggestions or schedules; constructing or assembling prefabricated display properties; producing merchandise displays and showcases on sales floor.
Identifying and investigating customer complaints and service suggestions.
Maintains a safe and clean store environment
Maintains inventory by checking merchandise to determine inventory levels; anticipating customer demand.
Performing Physical inventory counts for Items: Monthly, Quarterly and Yearly
Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
Contributes to the scheduling of employees to ensure the sales floor is adequately staffed at all times.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to perform simple calculations
Extensive knowledge about the store product and services and customer-related policies.
Ability to operate or to quickly learn the store's point of sale system.
Integrity
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced and busy environment
General knowledge of Fabrics, Crafts and Hardware is a plus
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged period of standing and walking throughout the retail space.
Must be able to bend, reach and lift up to 50 pounds.
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous retail experience preferred.
Successful completion of job training period.

Ability to demonstrate leadership qualities
Promote a positive, safe and clean work environment
Store Hours: Mon - Sat, 8am - 8 pm; Sun, 10am - 5 pm
