We are seeking a reliable and motivated Camp Maintenance Assistant to join our team.
The Camp Maintenance Assistant will assist with maintaining camp buildings, grounds, equipment, and infrastructure to ensure the safety and functionality of our camp facilities.
This role involves a variety of tasks related to maintenance, repair, construction, and oversight of camp operations.
Responsibilities:
* Conduct regular surveys of campsite to identify maintenance and repair needs.
* Assist in developing and implementing a maintenance plan for camp facilities.
* Purchase materials and supplies needed for maintenance projects.
* Coordinate routine maintenance tasks, including winterizing, de-winterizing, and landscaping.
* Assist with maintaining roads, gates, and general camp security, including inspections and preventive maintenance.
* Support remodeling and construction projects, including estimating, purchasing materials, and ensuring quality control.
* Maintain camp vehicles in safe operating condition through inspections and prompt repairs.
* Assist with oversight of water system testing, treatment, and maintenance.
* Assist with waste management plan, including composting, recycling, and disposal of kitchen waste.
* Assist with oversight of lake water testing, safety, dam management, and water levels.
* Participate in developing appropriate budgets and monitor expenditures to ensure compliance.
* Maintain tools, equipment, and supplies used for maintenance tasks.
* Ensure camp facilities meet standards set by the American Camping Association, state, and local health codes and building codes.
* Conduct routine inspections to identify and address site hazards and emergency maintenance needs.
* Enforce Camp Safety plans to ensure the safety of staff and participants.
* Monitor and direct housekeeping duties to maintain sanitation and cleanliness standards.
* Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Prior experience in maintenance, construction, or related field preferred.
* Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and operating machinery.
* Strong organizational and time management skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations.
* Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
