2000 Moto Guzzi EV11 California with Champion “Escort” sidecar
“Spring Special” price at only $4,995! The sidecar alone currently sells for about $5,500---plus the electric trim motor (leans the rig in or out) and installation cost another pile of cash!
This sidecar was originally mounted on a beige & tan Honda Gold Wing Aspencade---hence the paint & badging.
The steering damper is from a VW Bug(???) Makes the steering a bit “heavy” but drives much nicer with it installed.
Both a full cover for passenger weather protection (shown above) and a tonneau cover are included.
Plenty of tread on the tire.
All lights work.
Electric-powered trim leans the bike in or out relative to the sidecar.
Upholstery in great shape.
Spacious trunk.
The Guzzi---it starts and runs well.
Electronic fuel injection model.
Rear drive just re-built/re-sealed.
Good front tire.
The rear will be up for replacement in 2024 and I have already purchased it.
Haven’t done the work yet.
I just replaced the rear brake rotor and brake pads.
Everything works except the trip odometer.
58,425 miles and that number will increase as I use this rig at least once per week.
Usually a beer run, bird seed run, or giving kids joy rides!
All 3 brake lines are braided stainless.
Small (original?) steering damper still in place.
Battery tender and other sockets.
Hepco & Becker mounts for hard bags (bags not included).
Right side removed in order to install the sidecar.
Air shocks, passenger backrest (not perfect), top luggage rack.
Side & centerstands.
Big windshield.
Some extra stuff that goes with the bike: Engine crash guards, right-side Hepco & Becker mount, OEM oil filter & pan gasket, front caliper rebuild kit, fork air deflectors, brake microswitch, Champion installation manual, “Driving a Sidecar Outfit” educational book, and an assortment of miscellaneous brackets and fasteners.
This Moto Guzzi was well-cared for by a previous owner.
(2 owners ago.
The guy I bought it from kept it just long enough to install the sidecar.
Health issues forced him to sell and I have put less than 2,000 miles on it).
Oil changed every 2,500 miles.
Oil filter and pan gasket changed every 5,000 miles.
Valve clearances checked every 5,000 miles.
New synthetic oil in the rear drive and transmission every 5,000 miles.
The bike’s value is around $3,500 and the sidecar is worth even more.
I think that $4,995 is a very fair and reasonable price.
I’ve priced it cheaply because it’s Spring and I can almost break-even at this price.
The price will go to $5,995 later this Spring when demand for fun toys goes up! Delivery possible---depends on when & where.
