QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing, current licensure with State Board of Nursing Examiners.
One year of geriatric nursing experience preferred, but not required.
Must be able to speak, read, write the English language.
JOB SUMMARY: In accordance with facility policies and procedures, provides clinical assessments of and quality direct care to residents under the supervision of the Nurse Manager and DON.
Our RN supervisors provide oversight and guidance to nursing staff (LPNs, GNAs, CMAs) on the resident care team.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Follows the facility's policies and procedures related to the role of the RN.
Follows the facility's policies and procedures that relate to all employees.
Addresses resident care needs within the RN scope of practice.
As needed, seeks assistance from the resident's physician, Nurse Manager, ADON or other RN member of the Nursing leadership team.
Completes ordered resident treatments timely and accurately.
Administers ordered residents' medications timely and accurately.
Stays aware of clinical and service excellence best practices in rehabilitative and extended care nursing.
Addresses resident and/or family concerned and involves members of the leadership team and needed.
Works collaboratively with co-workers and members of all departments caring for the residents.
Serves as charge nurses when assigned (see list of charge nurse duties).
Completes or assures completion of required reporting.
Notifies leadership of adverse events or near adverse events as required by facility policy and procedure.
Participates as required in quality assurance and performance improvement activities.
Attends all required educational activities and meetings.
Documents care per policy requirements.
In accordance with policy requirements, develops and/or revises the plans of care as needed for each resident assigned to him or her.
Follows the plan of care.
Maintains confidentiality of resident and facility information.
Assures resident call lights are within reach at all times.
Observes safety policies and reports any safety concerns.
Demonstrates respect of resident rights and dignity.
Observes all required infection prevention and control policies and procedures.
Participates fully in the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement activities the organization.
