LPN to BSN Program Track Coordinator and Instructor – WVU School of Nursing Keyser Campus
West Virginia University School of Nursing: Potomac State Department in Keyser, West Virginia, invites applications for a full-time, 12-month LPN to BSN Program Track Coordinator and Instructor, Non-Tenure, Teaching Track position (1.
0 FTE).
The LPN to BSN Track Coordinator will report to the WVU School of Nursing Keyser Campus Chairperson.
The selected applicant will begin their contract starting May 1, 2024.
The Track Coordinator will work 37.
5 hours per week; work hours will typically span weekday afternoons/evenings and Saturdays, depending on student teaching/rotation schedules, and will be determined in collaboration with the Department Chair.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Coordinating the new LPN to BSN program track, including applicant admissions and student progression, graduation, and transition to RN practice.
Communicating with the School of Nursing professional advisor to monitor student matriculation.
Organizing LPN to BSN student classroom and clinical rotation schedules.
Assisting and supporting new LPNs in the transition to the BSN major.
Teaching in classroom, small-group, clinical, skills lab, and simulation settings.
Attending faculty and other School of Nursing meetings/events.
Qualifications
Requirements include:
Master’s degree in nursing (MSN).
Two years of registered nursing practice experience, with evidence of current experience in nursing practice sufficient to demonstrate professional competence.
Two years of teaching nursing experience, with evidence of current experience in teaching in nursing sufficient to demonstrate professional competence.
Unencumbered West Virginia RN License by position start date.
Preferred:
Doctoral degree in nursing or education (PhD, DNP, EdD) or enrolled in doctoral program.
Experience working with transitional nursing students (e.
g.
, LPN to BSN, LPN to ADN).
Experience coordinating a nursing education program/track.
