*As a member of the leadership team, Head Counselors serve a vital role in the oversight of the camper and staff population during the summer camp program.
Reporting to the Assistant Director and Director, the Head Counselors are responsible for day-to-day oversight of campers and staff, and in conjunction with the other leadership team members, daily camp operations .

*Head Counselors are often teachers or have a background in child development with summer camp experience.
*
*Located in the beautiful Laurel Mountains of PA, Camp Soles is where we reinvent fun! Campers have the opportunity to try their hand at a variety of activities including swimming, canoeing/kayaking/SUP, Ga-Ga and 9 square, arts & crafts, pickleball, climbing wall, zipline, fishing, target sports, rocketry, soccer, flag football, volleyball, hiking, nature programs, and much more!*
DATES: June 12, 2024 to August 10, 2024 (8 weeks, including 1 week training and orientation and 7 weeks camp programming)
\*Additional dates of employment may be available before/after camp season
JOB REQUIREMENTS
* Applicant must be least 25 years old
* Background in child development, education or related field preferred
* Summer camp experience preferred (leadership roles in camping are ideal)
* Desire and ability to work with children outdoors
* Capacity to provide warm, mature guidance and support
* Possess strong moral character, empathy, integrity, adaptability, enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience, and self-control
* Strong interpersonal, verbal, and organizational skills
* Able to communicate and work well with children and staff members
* Ability to accept guidance and supervision
As a condition of employment applicants must pass the staff screening processes which include: reference checks, criminal background checks, sex-offender registry check, finger printing, and other staff screening checks deemed appropriate.
