Frostburg State University invites applications and nominations for the position of Faculty Development and Retention Administrator.

Reporting to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Faculty Development and Retention Administrator will be a member of the Provost’s leadership team and collaborate closely with Deans to provide strategic vision and administrative direction in the planning and facilitation process for faculty hires, engagement, development and retention.
The Director will track promotion and sabbatical leave schedules, ensure compliance within hybrid and online teaching environments, and manage the electronic repository of course syllabi and the PELEF awarding process.
The successful candidate will also serve as the lead liaison from the Provost’s Office for the faculty handbook revision process and serve on the Faculty Handbook Subcommittee.
*Responsibilities: *The Faculty Development and Retention Administrator will have primary responsibility for planning and facilitating new faculty orientation, the faculty development institute and other development opportunities, managing the promotion, tenure and sabbatical processes, developing and maintaining online application and tracking tools, leading summer trainings for department chairs, facilitating onboarding and development of adjuncts, reviewing the faculty handbook for accuracy, policy implementation, and necessary updates, and assist with review and implementation of relevant campus and USM policies.
An active practitioner, the Faculty Development and Retention Administrator will remain up to date with best practices and trends in the faculty development field.
*Minimum Qualifications:* * Bachelor’s Degree with 4-6 years of experience or Master’s Degree with 2+ years of experience * Proven record of managing complex processes; communicating, collaborating, and facilitating problem-solving with diverse constituencies, improving work-flows; meeting deadlines; prioritizing competing demands; and leveraging technology * Excellent written and oral communication skills * Ability to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships * Must work with absolute discretion and tact in handling highly confidential information *About the University:*A member institution of the University System of Maryland, Frostburg State University is a public, comprehensive, largely residential regional university offering programs in the sciences, education, business, the arts and humanities at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
