Ride Operations Dispatchers serve as the communication liaison for the park.
This position works in coordination with the management team for all departments to maintain an organized flow of communication and ensuring that all pertinent calls and time stamps are correctly recorded.
Ride Operations Dispatchers are a part of the Rides & Attractions department and assist with administrative functions.

We are currently looking for a: Idlewild- Operations Dispatcher Roles & Responsibilities: Roles & Responsibilities Greet all guests with a friendly smile and positive attitude! Smile and communicate with fellow team members Provide excellent customer service by engaging guests in an inviting manner and answering questions related to the attraction and park Successfully obtain IROC certification Serve as the communication liaison for all departments in the park, taking inbound calls and dispatching proper personnel to areas as needed Receive and transmit radio messages; broadcast pertinent information as required Operate a telephone console; receive and relay messages; direct requests for assistance for security, law enforcement, and EMS to the appropriate agency; prioritizes calls for service and dispatches in an appropriate order Calmly, professionally, and clearly communicate information via phone and radio Use software systems to enter operational data in a timely and accurate manner Scan and enter electronic copies of paperwork into online database systems Track and record communication for all park maintenance requests and ride closures Adhere to attraction safety operating procedures, provide operational instructions in a safe and efficient manner, and enforce attraction safety guidelines Assist the Rides & Attractions Manager and Director of Operations with various department related projects Responsible to adhere to all applicable labor regulations and guidelines, including scheduled start and end time, break schedule and consecutive days worked Support our park through other duties as assigned by your manager Education and Experience: No minimum educational requirements.
1+ years of translatable experience Languages: English Basic Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age on the date of applying Must have a high school diploma or GED Must be able to speak and read the English language Must have reliable transportation to and from work for your scheduled shift Successfully obtain IROC certification Must be able to handle several responsibilities at one time, multi-task, and work unsupervised Strong communication skills are necessary in order to share accurate information distinctly, and concisely in a non-emotional manner.
Effective listening skills to elicit appropriate information Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, SharePoint, and Outlook Effective interpersonal skills are required to work in close proximity with other team members, interact with people (public or employees) and handle tense situations in a professional and tactful manner.
Ability to operate a two-way radio Must have the ability to always remain alert and vigilant Must have the ability to safeguard confidential park information Must have a working knowledge of attractions and be willing to be trained on park rides and attractions Must display a positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and professional image in compliance with Idlewild and SoakZone guidelines Requirements: Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays Must be able to work at least one (1) weekend day (Saturday, Sunday) per week throughout the operational season.
Must be able to work at least three (3) days per week and at least 24 hours per week from June through August (Shifts are available starting in May and continue through October.
) Working Conditions: Team Members are subject to a variety of weather conditions, including but not limited to: extreme heat, humidity, sun exposure, cold, and inclement weather.
