Purpose:
Support construction activities by providing support for a portion of the following: planning, organizing and implementing those management duties, project controls systems, engineering interface, subcontract and materials management, purchasing, scheduling.
Responsible for portions of project administration.
Responsibilities:
Reads and studies all project related documents (bid, design prints, submittals, etc) to gain a thorough understanding of the project scope
Maintains project files for quick access and for future reference
Ensure that project documentation is being prepared accurately, that consumable materials and work allocations are cost coded correctly and production quantities are being tracked and reported.
Sufficient detail shall be included in the report to accurately document the work that was completed
Maintains tracking spreadsheets for production quantities, materials, ROP, and other measurable metrics are documented for the project
Assists the Project Manager with performing takeoffs and obtaining quotes for required subs, materials, etc.
that are required throughout the project
Attends the daily planning meetings and prepares meeting notes to document and communicate to Project Manager and Client
Attends the weekly Onsite Progress meeting with the client and takes/distributes meeting minutes in accordance with the Project Manager's instructions
Assist the Project team with documenting safety meetings, JSAs, etc.
Assist in the preparation and review of resource scheduling within the three week look ahead schedule
Assists the Project Manager with documenting and tracking of Extra Work costs, assuring out of scope work is being captured as a Change Order and that Extra work is not being performed without proper authorization
Experience:
Minimum of 0-5 years experience in heavy/civil project or field engineering.
Skills & Abilities:
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented atmosphere
Ability to proficiently utilize the programs with the Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, Microsoft Project, and Outlook
Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations, including highly organized with attention to details
Ability to multitask in a high paced work environment with changing priorities
Ability to communicate effective in both verbal and written communications
Ability to proficiently utilize AutoCAD or similar design software
Ability to be on-site during all construction activities
Physical Requirements:
Ability to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) required by area or task being performed which may include but is not limited to: a hard hat, task specific safety glasses, a life vest, a respirator, task specific hearing protection, task specific safety shoes, or other protective equipment as required by the work performed and location in which the work is being completed
Ability to stand, stoop kneel, squat, climb, or sit for long periods of time
Ability to sit up to and including 6 hours in a standard issue office chair
Ability to withstand exposure to computer screens and cellular telephone screens
Ability to walk, step, climb, or otherwise move from one location to another on the job site
Ability to visually see equipment operations well (either naturally or with corrective lenses)
Ability to execute repetitive movements of the feet, shoulders, arms, wrists, hands, and back in performance of work
Ability to lift up to 50 lb.

Ability to adapt to outdoor conditions and prolonged exposure to sometimes adverse weather conditions
Ability to remaining calm during emergency situations and respond appropriately as dictated by the circumstance of the incident

Licenses or Certifications:
Valid US state issued driver s license preferred
OSHA 10 certification preferred
Education:
Associates or Bachelor s Degree in Industrial, Civil, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Business Management or a related field of study
