*GENERAL SCOPE:* Under the supervision of the Senior Center/Nutrition Manager and in accordance with HRDC Policies and Procedures, Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and Older Americans Act Food Program guidelines.
Assists with preparation of food and packaging; and has responsibility for following all health and hygiene regulations in meal preparation and kitchen sanitation and maintains a positive, professional attitude at all times.
*QUALIFICATIONS:* 1.
High School diploma or GED.
* A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in large quantity food preparation in a supervised setting.
* Must be able to pass ServSafe certification within time limit established by agency.
4.
Must have the flexibility and access to transportation to travel independently in all types of weather.
5.
Must demonstrate basic computer literacy or ability to acquire same within Agency designated time frame.
6.
Assists with preparation of food and packaging, according to menus and food preparation guidelines.
7.
Keeps the entire kitchen clean and sanitary, including, but not limited to, dishes, silverware, cooking utensils, appliances, and counter tops according to approved sanitation standards.
8.
Maintains storage/inventory according to ServSafe guidelines.
9.
Implements all nutrition, all licensing regulations governing food service and all nutrition guidelines for the USDA Recommended Daily Allowance guidelines, Dietary guidelines for Older Americans and the Child & Adult Care Food Programs.
10.
Follows agency guidelines concerning confidentiality.
11.
Responsible for closing down the kitchen daily which includes but not limited to sweeping and mopping, cleaning and sanitizing all countertops and sinks.
Ensure all equipment and lights are off at end of day.
12.
Must be able to lift pans from hot hold boxes and place them in appropriate holding bins.
13.
Must be able to lift both hands over head to obtain items needed in cupboards and shelves for food preparations.

Must complete a satisfactory Criminal Background Check and drug screen within timeframe established by the program.
*WORK ENVIRONMENT:* * Non-Union casual position.
Up to 19 hours per week.
* Days and hours of work may vary based on program needs.
Work-months per year may vary based on program needs.
* Work primarily in kitchen, and assisting responsibilities on the vehicle during deliveries.
* Frequently lifts, moves, transports program supplies, vendor supply food orders, supplies for seniors, boxes, and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
Frequent bending and standing for most of the work day while completing all kitchen tasks as outlined in the job description.
