Responsibilities of a Cook:
Clean food preparation areas, cooking surfaces and utensils.
Cook and package batches of food for consumption according to Department of Human Services Regulation and Safe Serv.
Cook the exact number of items ordered by each resident, working on several different orders simultaneously.
Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas.
Measure ingredients required for specific food items being prepared.
Mix ingredients such as pancake or waffle batters.
Operate large-volume cooking equipment.
Prepare and serve beverages such as coffee and drinks.
Prepare specialty foods as per the menu and diet.
Assist residents in specialty food items of food choice when the menu does not meet their liking.
Verify that prepared food meets requirements for quality and quantity.
Wash, cut and prepare foods designated for cooking.
Clean, stock and restock workstations and cooking utensils.
Order and take delivery of supplies.
Serve orders to residents at tables or in rooms.
Take food and drink orders and receive payment from family members.
All other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities of an Evening Cook:
Serve food at noon.
Assist in clean up.
Wrap silverware.
Stocking
2PM Snack Time: Take cart out and go to rooms and give out snack for residents.
Clean up tables, wiping them down daily and cleaning off chairs.
Requirements of a Cook:
High School diploma or GED.
Physically lift 25 pounds.
Must be able to read directions.
