Purpose:
The Dishwasher provides assistance in all dietary functions as directed by the supervisor in accordance with established dietary policies and procedures.
Reports To: Soux Chef, Executive Chef & Director of Dining Services
Primary Duties:
1.
Stocks chemicals as needed.
2.
Performs daily cleaning duties as instructed.
Assures department is maintained in a clean and safe manner.
Cleans necessary equipment.
Cleans spills in walk-ins, spot cleans walls in dish room.
3.
Assist in food prep as assigned.
4.
Keeps cart wash area (walls & floor) clean at all times.
5.
Serves as runner for health Care Kitchenette during meal times.
6.
Performs dishwashing and cleaning procedures.
Assures that utensils and other cooking instruments are readily available for next meal.
7.
Wash all pots and pans.
8.
Empties department garbage, cleans garbage cans, and cleans food carts.
9.
Soaks dishes and silver according to established schedule.
10.
Follows safety regulations at all times.
Follows established infection control and universal precaution procedures when performing daily tasks.
11.
Handles all dining services equipment in accordance with sanitary regulations, as well as established policies and procedures.
12.
Cleans dish machine thoroughly after meals.
13.
Disposes of food and waste according to established policies.
14.
Reports any dish machine issues to department supervisor – temperatures – proper cleaning.
Etc.
15.
Assists in maintaining food storage areas in a clean and properly arranged manner at all times.
Assists in inventory and storing incoming food as needed.
16.
Keeps privileged information about residents confidential according to HIPPA guidelines.
17.
Upholds Laurel View Village’s Code of Conduct and follows Corporate Guidelines, per the LVV Employee Handbook.
18.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Educational and Experience Requirements:
1.
No prior experience needed.
On-the-job training provided.
2.
Must have adequate reading abilities to read and understand special diet menus and other food service procedures.
Other Requirements:
1.
Must be able to deal tactfully with staff, residents, and visitors.
2.
Must be able to follow written instructions.
3.
Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, appearance of work areas for regular inspection of food service areas for sanitation, order safety, and proper
performance of assigned duties.
4.
Must maintain confidentiality of resident information.
5.
Must attend required training and education sessions offered by the facility.
6.
May be required to lift, push, pull, and move equipment, supplies, etc.
in excess of fifty (50) pounds throughout the workday.
Working Conditions:
1.
May be exposed to infectious waste and disease (including Covid, HBV and HIV).
2.
Will be exposed to heat in kitchen work areas and cold temperatures in food storage/freezer areas.
3.
Stands, bends, lifts and moves throughout workday.
4.
May be required to work after regular work hours, on holidays and weekends,
5.
May be required to work on shifts other than the shift initially hired for.
* Employee is responsible for following his/her posted bi-weekly schedule via management.
Please note the seven-minute grace period for punching in prior a nd after your shift.
* All overtime must be approved by on duty manager.
