INFANT TODDLER (ITCS) TEACHER ASSISTANT
FULL TIME – 1st SHIFT
MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY SCHEDULE
NO HOLIDAYS OR WEEKENDS
The Growing Years Early Learning Center in Bedford, offering child care for children from birth through five years of age in a teaching environment that is secure and nurturing, is actively seeking a full time, first shift Infant Toddler (ITCS) Teacher Assistant.
This position assists the Infant/Toddler (ITCS) Lead Teacher to implement program planning to include individualized activities for each child in the classroom, ensuring that the highest quality services are provided.
Duties include:
Assists Infant/Toddler (ITCS) lead teacher in reaching program goals as directed.
Assist Infant/Toddler (ITCS) lead teacher to maintain accurate records for the classroom as requested such as food data, attendance, etc.
Assist Infant/Toddler (ITCS) lead teacher to monitor and maintain inventory and supplies used in the classroom according to program procedures.
Monitor and maintain in good repair materials and equipment used in the classroom according to program policies and procedures.
Provide services to assigned children ages birth to three years and their families.
Maintain accurate records of classroom experiences, family contacts, services to children, food data, etc.

Ensure that activities, material, etc.
, are appropriate to the developmental capabilities of each child.
Implement an individualized developmental program for each child that reflects goals and objectives agreed upon by the family.
Observe and record child progress through anecdotal records and required assessments.
Greet each child and parent in a warm, friendly manner as they arrive at the center; facilitates entry into classroom, and separation from parents.
Make provisions for all children with disabilities so that their special needs are met and their well being is assured.
Provide a learning environment for children that invites exploration, emphasizes communication, problem solving, stimulates curiosity and the development of new ideas, and maximizes success.
Provide a variety of appropriate equipment, activities and opportunities to promote the physical development of the children.
Provide activities and experiences that develop questioning, probing and problem solving appropriate to the developmental levels and learning styles of children.
Provide opportunities for children to understand, acquire and use verbal and non-verbal means of communicating thoughts and feelings.
Provide experiences that stimulate children to explore and express their creative abilities while promoting process vs.
product.
Provide opportunities that allow children to accomplish tasks on their own.
Help each child to know, accept, and take pride in himself, and to develop a sense of independence.
Assist in feeding infants and serving meals as scheduled or requested and in accordance with established procedures for sanitation and mealtime interaction with children.
Help children learn to get along with others and encourage feelings of empathy and mutual respect among children and adults.
Provide an environment in which children can learn and practice skills and behaviors which are appropriate and acceptable individually and in a group.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent and two years (2,500) hours work-related experience.
CDA credentials preferred.
Experience related to the care and development of young children.
