Position Overview: The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant works under the direct supervision of the Health Services Administrator, Program Manager, or higher medical professional.
They assist the Physician in all medical care and treatment of the inmate population, including behavioral health disorders.
The role includes coordinating the patient plan of care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in compliance with all agency, local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
Job Details: Hours: 40 hours per week $8,000 sign-on/retention bonus.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Rapidly respond and deliver care in compliance with company protocols and procedures.
Evaluate patients for typical acute care and Emergency Medicine complaints and recommend treatment according to standard practice, standardized procedures, and protocols.
Consult with physician about conditions that fall outside protocol parameters.
Identify patients clinically indicated for emergency transfer offsite to an Emergency Department May assess psychiatric stability in conjunction with a physician collaborator to manage acute medical, traumatic, and psychiatric issues.

Ensure confidentiality of all protected health information per HIPAA guidelines.
Participate in Quality Management and Peer Review activities.
Attend periodic administrative meetings.
Provide cross-coverage and clinical support for other services, as needed.

Demonstrated ability to work on a computer including but not limited to using the Internet, Microsoft Office products, the company telemedicine platform, and Electronic Medical Record systems.
Ability to touch type on a keyboard, and operate basic office equipment including but not limited to using a mouse and/or stylus to do electronic health.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/TRAVEL: This job is performed in a correctional facility, client site or counseling center including minimum, medium, or maximum-security levels.
This role routinely requires interaction with inmates in providing medical, dental or mental health assessment, care and medication.
Employees are exposed to some level of risk and/or harm by inmates including exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
The employee is expected to work in accordance with all security rules and regulations to minimize the risk of danger and/or harm to themselves or other employees.
Local travel away from the assigned facility to work at other county facilities and/or to attend or participate in meetings may be required from time to time.
