EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
As an Accounting Assistant for the Department of Corrections, you will be responsible for keeping inmates' accounts up-to-date and accurate for your assigned Institution.
In this role, you will be responsible for all inmates releases and transfers, answering requests/inquiries concerning inmate accounts and resolving discrepancies.
You will also type memos, provide account summaries, return telephone inquiries, and post entries into Gravity.
Other key responsibilities of the position include posting accounting data to ledgers, books, registers, and journals; making routine adjustments to accounts; preparing daily summary and monthly accumulative reports; and taking routine trial balances and preparing routine and/or financial reports.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment (37.
50 hours per week)Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 60 or 65.
