*Position Overview*: The County Revenue and Hotel Tax Support Coordinator is the main point of contact for short-term lodging providers and works directly with the elected Tax Collectors in cooperation with the County Treasurer and the First Deputy Treasurer.
To perform financial analysis, as it relates to the duties below, for the office, and to assure compliance of those functions with federal, state and county policies, procedures and general basic accounting methods; to maintain county financial records; to track, maintain and report all licensing functions within the office.
*Essential Job Functions:* 1.
Acts of the direct point of contact for current and future short-term lodging providers to register them with the County of Somerset 2.
Routinely research the internet and other advertising tools to locate short-term lodging providers 3.
Receive and process Hotel Tax payments and maintain files for all short-term lodging providers 4.
Prepare and provide short-term delinquency report to the County Treasurer at the end of each month for review 5.
Receive and process County Real Estate payments from the County’s 50 tax collectors 6.
Assist in processing checks from various County departments and issuing a receipt to those departments 7.
Issue dog licenses received through the mail, across the counter and online 8.
Reconcile dog license sold by agents of the County 9.
Issue hunting and fishing license via the hunt/fish website 10.
Track daily, weekly and monthly sales of hunting and fishing license 11.
Act as a liaison for the office with various state agencies as it relates to license sales and rectify any problems encountered 12.
Balance the cash drawers daily 13.
Prepare daily deposits 14.
Prepare daily and monthly sales reports for: · PA Dog Law · PA Game Commission · PA Fish Commission 15.
Work with internet banking tools 16.
Perform in a Supervisory capacity in absence of the Treasurer and First Deputy Treasurer *Other Duties:* 1.
Greet customers; assist in answering the phone; opening and dispensing the mail; performing other clerical duties within the office as necessary 2.
Attend meetings and/or training as required 3.
Perform other job-related duties as required *Supervision Received:* Receive instruction and supervision from Treasurer and First Deputy Treasurer as needed in regard to daily work duties *Supervision Given:* No direct supervision, except when delegated by Treasurer or First Deputy Treasurer or in the absence of the Treasurer or First Deputy Treasurer *Education/Training Qualifications:* High school diploma or equivalent; computer training or experience required; business school training a plus *Work Experience:* One to three (1-3) years general office experience, bookkeeping/accounting knowledge, computer skills including MS Word, Excel and Internet skills.

Must possess above average math and bookkeeping skills 4.

Must possess ability to maintain confidentiality in regard to information and records 7.
Must possess the technical knowledge of operating personal computers and other office equipment 8.
Must possess good communication skills, both orally and in writing 9.
Must have the ability to prepare required reports in a timely and accurate manner 10.
Must possess knowledge of and understand state and county laws, policies and procedures in regard to recordkeeping practices and methods 11.
Must possess knowledge of general financial recordkeeping methods, policies and procedures and the ability to prepare required financial reports and statements *Physical and Mental Conditions:* 1.
Must be able to sit for long periods throughout the workday, with intermittent periods of standing, walking, bending, twisting, and reaching as necessary to carry out job duties 2.
Dexterity requirements range from simple to coordinated movements of fingers/hands, feet/legs and torso as necessary to carry out job duties 3.
Light work with occasional lifting/carrying of objects with a maximum weight of 50 pounds 4.
Must be able to cope with the physical, mental and emotional stress of the job 5.
Must be able to pay close attention to details and concentrate on work *Working Conditions:* 1.
Works indoors in adequate workspace with adequate temperatures, ventilation and lighting 2.
Works with average indoor exposure to noise, stress and disruptions 3.
Interacts extensively with other County employees and the general public 4.
Normal indoor exposure to dust/dirt```Duties``` - Oversee all financial aspects of the organization, including budgeting, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance - Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure effective financial management - Manage the organization's cash flow, including monitoring accounts receivable and payable - Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and forecasts - Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and other relevant regulations - Coordinate and support the annual audit process - Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic decision-making - Collaborate with other departments to develop and monitor budgets for various projects and initiatives - Stay up-to-date with industry trends and changes in accounting regulations ```Skills``` - Strong understanding of financial concepts, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis - Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero or Sage - Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) - Experience in financial report writing and analysis - Familiarity with accounts receivable and general ledger accounting processes - Ability to prepare regulatory reports accurately and on time - Strong attention to detail and analytical skills - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams - Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment - Knowledge of technical accounting standards and ability to apply them appropriately Note: This job description is intended to provide a general overview of the position.
